“Best Day Ever!”

I think I’ve had the best day that I’ve had in quite some time, at least as a writer, that is! I finally finished the edits on my new novel, “The Mind of a Heart.” This sweet story of mine has been on hold for quite some time and I sat for hours today to finish the last pieces of it and I couldn’t be more excited.

There have been a few roadblocks along my way of publishing this book. I had my move to Delaware, then to Florida followed by Hurricane Ian, along with a few minor illnesses along the way, but as I always say and believe, “everything happens as it should, when it should and how it should.”

I hope you’ll follow me on my journey as “The Mind of A Heart” gets ready to turn into a reality!

Dreams do come true with patience, faith and in believing that they will.

I had all three today.

Wishing you love and light,

Anne Dennish

“Are You Still dreaming?

Are you still dreaming? Do you allow yourself to have those days of sitting alone, letting your mind wander and thinking of how different you’d like your life to be?

Dreams are important. YOUR dreams are important because I believe that dreams can come true.

Don’t ever stop dreaming, no matter what your life is like right now. Dreams give us hope, they give us strength to turn them into a reality, and they allow us to find the faith we need to believe that they come true.

Tonight is a full moon. It’s a time for new beginnings, letting go of what doesn’t serve you and for putting your dreams out there, far into the Universe!

Sit under the full moon tonight and send your dreams out there, as far as you can throw them.

They will be noticed. They will be heard. They will be possible.

Believe and be grateful for it all.

I believe in you and I believe in your dreams.

Trust, have faith, and keep dreaming.

Wishing you love and light,

“The Good Old Days…”

I love when the “memories” pop up on my social media. Some are sweet, some bittersweet, yet when I see them I take a moment to remember them and then I move back into the present. I’ll be honest, it bugs me to see other people post their memories with “those were the good ‘ol days.”

Okay, I get that line but there are people that believe their past was truly “the good old days,” and I wonder why they don’t see that the life they have “now” as the good days as well.

I have a past and I have memories just like everyone else, but I wouldn’t trade them for the life I have now and the memories I’m making in my life today.

Let me ask you this: “If the “good old days” were so good then why aren’t you still living in them?”

There are so many people that live in the past and I feel a sadness for them because they’re missing everything good in their present, and that hurts the people that ARE in their present life.

We tend to remember our past as this amazing time of our lives, but I would tell you that if you’re really going to think that that was the best time of your life, you should also try to remember what wasn’t so good about them.

And if you really believe that your past was “the good old days,” then you should go back to them or at least ask yourself why you aren’t living them anymore.

Life begins with your first breath and ends with your last, but it’s all those “breaths” in between that really count. Embrace “each breath along the journey” with each new day that you are gifted to live in.

Don’t live so far in your past that you lose sight of all the good in your present.

Make each day count.

It’s a good thing.

Wishing you love and light,

~Anne Dennish~

“Oh, The Places Being A Writer Can Take You!”

Do you know what I’m looking forward to the most in the women’s workshop I’ll be teaching in Italy this summer? It’s sharing my experience as a published author with other writers. I’m looking forward to sharing all that I’ve learned throughout my years of writing and publishing books: “the ups and downs, the ins and outs, and the do’s and don’ts.

Yet being a writer is so much more. A writer takes a dream and makes it come true, and sometimes the dream of being a “writer” turns into so much more. It can take you places that you had never dreamed of  and present you with opportunities that you never knew had existed.

I’ve been writing all of my life but my first real “writing” job was as a journalist for our local racetrack, Wall Stadium Speedway. I had my own column and interviewed drivers, pit crews, safety teams and fans. It was a dream to be at the track that I grew up attending, yet here’s where the “dream I never thought of” happened. I was asked to race a factory stock car in the woman’s “powder puff” race the week before I began chemo for breast cancer. Driving on that track was a place I had never dreamed of being, yet it all came from my writing.

When I published, “Waking Up,” I had written song lyrics for the title and found a local musician to record it. You would think one song was enough, yet before I knew it I had written lyrics to 14 of the stories in the book, recorded them with the musician, and together we produced a CD. It was another place that my dream of writing took me to and it didn’t stop there: I was filmed in a music video for the song “Waking Up.” Yet, the dream kept growing. I’d find myself on the front page of our local newspaper, being interviewed on a well known radio station, doing photo shoots and performing in public as the musician and writer team called “Collaboration of Hope.” The dream continued when I sang back-up in the song I wrote about myself called “The Dreamer.”

But wait, the perks of being a writer continued with my own internet radio talk show called “Living Your Best Life With Anne Dennish.” I’ve always loved radio but this was yet another dream that came about because of my being a writer.

And during the book launch of my newest book, “Each Breath Along The Journey” another dream I hadn’t even imagined happened again: I was asked to conduct a women’s writers workshop in Italy.

And so the dreams that are founded on being a writer continue.

Now you know why the women’s writers workshop this summer is so important to me. I want to be able to share my experiences of being a published author with other writers but even more importantly, I want to share my experiences of one dream turning into another, and another, and another.

Meet me in Italy this August and join my workshop. You will leave with inspiration and motivation to keep writing and to keep your eyes open to all the endless possibilities that being a writer has to offer.

Writers turn into published authors and dreams turn into reality.

Let’s explore all of it in Italy this summer.

It’s a good thing.

Wishing you love and light,

~Anne Dennish~

“The New Year’s Eve Mindset”

It’s New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2019 and the last day of the decade. At midnight tonight a new year and a new decade will be upon us: 2020! How exciting, how wonderful that we’re blessed to be here for this night, how amazing it is that we have a chance to start over, to have a new beginning in our life, to change our lives.

I believe in taking the life lessons of the old year into the new year, but I also believe that New Year’s Eve is a mindset. It’s another day, another month, and a new year, yet why do we put so much importance on changing our life on that one day? It’s because it’s tradition. It’s what people all over the world celebrate and we do, too. After all, it IS a new year and a new decade and that does deserve a celebration of its’ own.

My point is that we don’t need to wait until that one day to make changes in our life. We have the choice to change our mindset from waiting for that one day to one of embracing all the days in between to taking the steps to have the life we want and deserve.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve and the beginning of a New Year and New Decade.

And celebrate all the days in between.

It’s a good thing.

Happy New Year!

Wishing you love and light,

~Anne Dennish~

“Christmas Miracles”

I’m still feeling that Christmas spirit and it has a lot to do with a few “Christmas Miracles” that I was blessed to have.

One of my very close friends gave me one of her crystals, one that meant a lot to her. She passed away a few years ago yet I kept this closer than ever…until I couldn’t find it for the last four years. I looked everywhere and no luck. As I was finishing up decorating my living room on Christmas Eve, I noticed that one of my glass bowls had broken. I decided to empty it out and throw it in the trash. As I was taking out the contents of the bowl, there at the bottom was the pendulum. Imagine my surprise that it had been inside of my house, right near my desk, all along!

Christmas Day brought even more miracles! My sister and my nephew drove up from Virginia to surprise my family! My brother had traveled from New York with his family and it was the first time in over 25 years that my parents had all three of their children together for Christmas, not to mention 8 of their 12 grandchildren! As for me, I was blessed to have 3 of my five children with me.

I woke up the day after Christmas with the same feelings as the day before. I was filled with excitement and joy, love and light, and more importantly, I was filled with gratitude for all that I was blessed to receive.

I’m so excited about these last few days of 2019 and I intend to make the most of each and every minute of them. It’s the end of the decade with a new one right around the corner. Make it the best ever!

I believe in miracles. I believe that dreams do come true. I believe that anything and everything is possible.

I believe in making each day count.

It’s a good thing.

Wishing you love and light,

~Anne Dennish~

“For The Love Of The Dreamers”

I love a good success story. I think it’s awesome to hear about someone who has a dream that they worked hard on turning into a reality. And I love to see people believe in their dreams so much that they do come true, and sometimes those dreams become something beyond what they had imagined. These are the dreamers I respect with all my heart.

My nephew, Sean Wotherspoon, owner of Round Two, is such a dreamer. I’m beyond proud of him, I’m in awe of him. He had a vision years ago and I’ve been blessed to have watched the process of where he was five years ago turn into where he is now.

He’s a great success at all that he does, yet he also spreads positivity and his love for the environment right along with them. He utilizes his success into making the world a better place and I think that makes him one amazing human being.

Sean recently collaborated with Prince Sports and designed a line of sportswear. He was also featured in an interview in Forbes and the list of great things he does on a daily basis goes on. Nothing has stopped this nephew of mine. I’ve watched his dreams come true and I’ve watched the dreams he never imagined come true. He believes in his vision, he believes in what he does, and he believes in making the world a better place.

He believes in his dreams.

And he teaches me everyday to believe in mine.

Believe in your dreams.

It’s a good thing.

Wishing you love and light,

“Chemo and Racing…The Game Changer”

I was a journalist for years at our local racetrack, Wall Stadium Speedway. I had my own column called “The Need For Speed,” in which I interviewed the drivers. It was an exciting time to be “behind the scenes” of the track that I grew up listening to and going to every Saturday night!

This picture came up on my memories and I wanted to share it with you. I was asked to drive a car in the women’s race called “The Powder Puff!” Of course I said yes, and once I had the driving experience I understood the passion behind the drivers I interviewed even more.

I was scheduled to start chemo a week after this picture was taken and on that night I remember telling my friends that I believed that racing scared me more!

Yet I did it and the fear turned to excitement, and after that race I felt as though I could get through anything…and I got through cancer.

Sometimes life hands us an adventure or opportunity that we never thought we’d have, and it’s those moments that can change our outlook on things forever.

I took that racing experience with me right through chemo and knew that in time I’d cross that finish line as a survivor.

And I did.

And it was a very good thing.

Wishing you love and light,

“We’re Dreamers ‘Til The End”

“A dreamer is a realist with faith.”

Faith in their dreams and faith in themselves.

I was in Virginia a few weeks ago to celebrate my nephew, Gavin’s, high school graduation. It was the first time in years that so much of our family was under the same roof for the night and we all had a good time.

I was in Virginia a few weeks ago to celebrate my nephew, Gavin’s, high school graduation and I got to spend some time alone with him. We had a conversation I’ll remember forever: he shared his “dreams” with me.

Yes, we spoke of college and his football career, but most of the conversation was about his dreams.

And he said he must get that “dreamer” thing from me.

And I couldn’t have been more proud.

Gavin told me that he wants to make a difference in the world, even if it’s making a difference to just one person. He told me that he’s not looking to be famous, but if he is he wants to be famous for helping people and changing someone’s life for the better. He told me his “dreams” of a better world and I understood exactly what he was talking about because I dream of the same. Gavin and I aren’t just waiting for our dreams to come true, we’re doing what it takes to turn our dreams into a reality.

I received a “thank you” card from Gavin and this proud auntie shed a tear at the last line of the card: “We’re dreamers together ‘til the end!”

And we will always will be.

I believe in the “dreamers” because I’ve been one for as long as I can remember. When I was much younger I  remember being told that it was okay to have dreams as long as I understood that they were just dreams, not reality. I used to believe that a dreamer was just a person who went through life with their head in the clouds, but that’s not true.

We dreamers have our feet planted firmly on the ground, yet we have enough faith in ourselves to believe that we can turn our dreams into reality; we have an intense passion for our dreams; and we believe in our dreams and in ourselves.

I believe in my nephew, Gavin, I believe in me, and I believe in all of you.

Thank you, Gavin, for letting your aunt know that she made a difference in your life.

After all, that’s what us “dreamers” are all about…

And it’s a good thing.

Wishing you love and light,

~Anne Dennish~
